Safe Sport is about creating a culture where everyone can thrive in Sport at all levels of participation free from maltreatment. The ONEC Safe Sport policy integrates and adopts Safe Sport policy from our National Sport organizations. We are working with our Provincial and National Organizations to ensure we advance a respectful sport culture at ONEC.
Action Plan
If you know of, or suspect that you or anyone associated with ONEC is experiencing maltreatment, you can follow the steps below to report to an Independent Third Party (ITP). ITPs employ highly trained and skilled professionals equipped to deal with Safe Sport issues with sensitivity and confidence.
They will be able to review, advise and refer issues for further action independently of ONEC. Depending on the nature of the complaint, you will be assigned a Complaint Resolution Officer (CRO) from either a National or Provincial Organization or locally at ONEC.
If you are aware or suspect that you or anyone associated with the club is experiencing maltreatment
Do Not Ignore It
DO SOMETHING
If there is immediate danger
If you witness a crime or suspect a crime
If you know of or suspect maltreatment of a person under the age of 18
If you know of or suspect maltreatment of an adult
Immediately contact the police.

The ITP will assess the concern. If the ITP assesses that the issue should be managed by our Complaint Resolution Officer (CRO), the ITP will contact our CRO
Offer support and guidance to individuals.
Follow the ONEC Safe Sport Policy Manual.
When in doubt, CONSULT the ITP.

The Police, CAS and ONEC are always available to help support you.
Your confidentiality will be maintained unless it is required by law to disclose.
