Racing
Shell
Program
Three classes of 1.5 hours each.

In a small group of 4 people you will continue to develop your rowing skills, and acquire new knowledge to help you feel comfortable in a racing shell. There will be a focus on body and boat movements with emphasis on good posture to prevent injury and help with boat balance.

The three sessions focus on developing your foundational boat handling and rowing skills covering the entry, drive, release and recovery. You will be practicing in both racing singles and doubles.
There will be a strong focus on safety as it pertains to rowing in a racing shell along the Ottawa River.

At the end of the program you will be well acquainted with the ONEC racing shell fleet. You will be placed with a rowing mentor who will continue to help you develop your skills until you are ready to take the skills assessment required to book the racing shells at ONEC.
