Eric: This is for you after our conversation this morning, but good for anyone who's starting to move onto the erg for the winter months......The dreaded damper setting debacle.....

Serious talk here.

10km east winds predicted tomorrow morning.

We can go down and check the water but be prepared to erg and do dry land balance training instead.

Solution

The Litequattro instead of singles!

Balance, I am obsessed with it!

Let's think about our abs. Abdominal muscles low in the gut, not at the rib cage.

Engage these low abdominal muscles to stabilize your core as you recover up the slide. These help you Balance, not your shoulders. During the drill focus on how your abds feel.

  1. Chopping at 90 degrees, at the reals and at the entry. Abs engaged.

  2. Warm up, breaking down the stroke as you cross the river.

  3. Pause drill at 90degrees then at the release

Yes: as Jen M mentioned, Windy is saying East wind 9-10 km/h gusting to 19. We'll have to keep an eye out

Sherry had previously suggested to have fuel pre-positioned at the dock when it looks like things could be dicy. Just a thought. Will leave it to the big kids to make the call.

ONEC is sending two quad entries to the Head of the Trent.

A few of the athletes are new this year to masters so do not yet have the red attack beaver shirt.

Can anyone lend their red masters shirt to this competition?

Hi from Australia! I have a red masters shirt sitting at home in Ottawa. If you want to pick it up at my house, which is near Onec, I can make arrangements with my daughter to either hand it over or leave it in our mailbox.

Let me know!
